It doesn't matter who you are, back and neck problems can happen anytime, anywhere. It doesn't matter what your vocation is, whether you are on your feet all day or sitting in front of a computer 40 hours a week. As a matter of fact, about 8 out of 10 Americans will have a back problem at some point in their lives.
As a way to fight back pain and keep you in the game for the long haul, Barton Chiropractic Clinic would like to go over a few ways to reinforce your back, neck, and spine from home.
Make Sure to Stretch
You don't have to drop any serious coin on classes or anything, but you can watch a few yoga videos on YouTube and incorporate some of those moves into either a morning or an evening stretch routine. It's actually a great idea to split up your stretching between the morning and the evening, both as a way to calibrate your body after a night of sleeping on a mattress, and reinforcing your body after a day's grind.
Make Sure that You Belly Breathe
When you tuck in your belly button and take deep, cleansing breaths, you're actually improving your posture, enabling your spine's nerves to move through proper channels more freely. Simply by doing this act you'll cut down on overall back pain with the addred benefit of increasing your sense of well-being. Namaste!
Find a Way to Do Perfect Push-Ups and Perfect Pull-Ups
We like exercise, but make sure you're incorporating proper form, especially when you're doing push-ups and pull-ups, which are both great for your upper body. They both help strengthen your back as well. Incorporate some exercises for your core to go the extra mile for your back, neck, and spine.
Engaging in a regular meditation practice, cutting down on your caffeine intake, and committing yourself a structured, consistent sleep routine will give your body what it needs to recharge for the next day.
