First, make sure that you're replacing sugary drinks and sodas with water. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water to make sure your body and brain function properly.
Eat plenty of clean, whole foods. Shop on the periphery aisles of the grocery store, where you can find fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid packaged and frozen foods. You can make an exception and purchase frozen veggies if you're needing those in order to make quick veggie smoothies on the go. Yum!
When you're out and about if the option is to eat junk food or wait until you get home to eat something better for you, then simply wait. Stop eating just for the sake of filling up on... something. Processed foods and foods high in sugar and complex carbohydrates bogs your digestive system down and causes serious inflammation, which can lead to all sorts of health problems.
Make sure that you also have your last meal at least 2 hours before you go to sleep, that way you can sleep more soundly, since your body won't have to worry about digesting a meal you've just consumed.
